The Shores Homeowners Association is a residential area of 385 homes in Northwest Longmont near McIntosh Lake with excellent views of Longs Peak. All property owners in The Shores are members of the Association. About one-third of the homes are patio homes and two-thirds are traditional homes.
MacIntosh Lake is within walking distance of every property in the Shores. There is a public walk around the lake – 3.5 miles. Two city parks adjoin the lake and have picnic shelters, restrooms, volleyball and basketball courts. The Association has tennis courts, a swimming pool, a small park, and large open areas.
The Shores is managed by an elected board of directors who are responsible for maintaining common areas and facilities, insuring that services are provided, enforcing governing covenants and rules, and managing reserve funds. The purpose of the association is to maintain the attractiveness and value of our neighborhoods and to provide services to property owners. A management company handles much of the detailed business of the association.
The Shores is made up of four neighborhoods, which have different services and different assessments. Each neighborhood has a committee charged with advising the board on neighborhood matters.
Architectural and Landscape Committees evaluate proposed changes to structures and landscaping to protect esthetics and property values of all properties in the Shores.
